Welcome!

I’m Charles Aquilina, a software techie currently based in Melbourne, Australia.

I operate Backbone Engineering, an Australian “elastic software” house. We work primarily with scaling Australian importer/distributors. If you’re a big decision-maker at a growing business (cool!), and you’re starting to feel some serious admin or IT pain (not cool!), reach out here and we’ll see if we can help.

I am also the less serious half of TimberWatch, a Melbourne-based organisation that is trying to reduce waste (and insurance premiums) in the timber construction industry with some custom-designed electronics. We’re currently running a pilot program and gathering data on timber health over time, in a range of settings.
